Mrs. Candy Carden
Let me tell you a little bit about myself! I was blessed to marry my best friend, Mr. Joshua Carden, on June 21st of 2014... and it has been and amazing adventure each and every day! Some of you may remember me as Ms. Sparks (my maiden name). We do not have any children yet- for now spoiling our nieces and nephews & the students I share my days with are just enough for me! We do have a little "fur-baby". She is a yorkipoo and spoiled rotten!!! Her name is Tinkerbell ("Tink" for short) and she is 10 pounds of fluffiness and wet kisses! I love enjoying my evenings & weekends with Joshua & Tink!! Hopefully in the near future we will welcome a little one into the Carden family :)
I am proud to say that I have been a St. Clair Saint all my life! I attended Odenville Elementary through St. Clair County High School. I graduated from SCCHS in 2003 and began attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where I received a Bachelors of Social Work with a minor in Criminal Justice. From then I continued at UAB to earn a Masters of Early Childhood and Elementary Education. This is my 10th year of teaching…. the first two years were in 4th grade and this being my eighth year teaching 3rd grade. I was BLESSED with the privilege of being able to teach at Odenville Intermediate School upon earning my degree, and have been here ever since- and I hope to stay at this wonderful school for years to come! I could not ask for a better school, students, or parents.
My goal as a teacher is to be a role model to each of my students. I hope each day that my students, and all that I meet, understand how important they are and see the potential within themselves and strive to achieve their greatest success and most amazing dreams! I pray I can play just a small part in raising a generation of kind, caring, lifelong learners as well as respectful and responsible young adults.
It is going to be a wonderful year!
